2024 Aphasia Summer Program

  • Have you had a stroke or traumatic brain injury OR have you been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia?

  • Do you want to improve your communication skills?

  • Do you need strategies to communicate more effectively with your family and friends?

  • Do you want to meet other people with similar difficulties?

 

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is offering an adult education program to improve communication skills. Please email CSD-SLP@uthscsa.edu or call 210-450-8353 to determine eligibility for the program and to register for a session. We can help arrange transportation.

 

Program Details:

  • No fee

  • Sessions for 2 weeks (8 days total)

  • Four hours per day

When:

Session 1: June 3–13 | Session 2: June 17–27 | Session 3: July 8–18

  • Sessions 1 and 3 are for individuals with sudden-onset aphasia (ex. stroke, brain injury)

  • Session 2 is for individuals with gradual-onset aphasia (ex. primary progressive aphasia)

Additional Information:

Services will be provided by graduate students under the supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists.
