About the Nursing Innovations Podcast Series

Our Nursing Innovations podcast series is a short series of episodes highlighting the accomplishments of our faculty, student, and research staff at the ��Թ� School of Nursing.

Dr. Cantu talks with , an Assistant Professor at ��Թ� School of Nursing about how she became interested in research on substance abuse disorders in pregnancy, how she is addressing key issues through her research, and how policy can influence research.

Episode 2: Dr. Cantu meets with and her PhD Nursing Science student mentee Andrya Bene Rivera-Burciaga to discuss the Cambia Health Foundation Sojourns Scholar Leadership Program and the project connected to the grant.

Episode 3: Dr. Cantu speaks with and recently graduated PhD in Nursing Science graduate Shanae Rhodes to go over their research which focuses on exploring how religious activities and spiritual connectedness can foster meaningful engagement among persons with dementia.

Adelita G. Cantu, Ph.D., RN

Adelita G. Cantu, Ph.D., RN, is an associate professor in the Department of Family and ��Թ� Health Systems within the School of Nursing. She is a nationally recognized doctoral prepared expert, specializing in public/community health nursing and clinical nursing research. Her program of science in teaching, service and research has been focused on building healthy communities through the enhancement of public and community health grounded in the Socio-Ecological Model as a framework to prevent disease and promote health and wellbeing at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of prevention. Through her teaching, research, and service, she have impacted health in communities, neighborhoods, and families.
