Megan Lynn Llamas, MA, BSRC, RRT, Respiratory Care Assistant Professor, always knew she wanted to teach.

Five years after graduating with a bachelor’s in respiratory care in 2013, Llamas is back at the School of Health Professions, sharing her passion with students. She joined the faculty on Aug. 20.

Llamas loves learning and helping others grow. Asked what inspires her, she didn’t hesitate.

“The drive and motivation you can give to other people, aiding in their success, doing research and keep the field up-to-date and learning yourself,” she immediately replied.

Llamas has a master’s in healthcare administration and plans to enter a Ph.D. program. She recently was education coordinator at the San Antonio Military Medical Center Burn Unit. She previously has taught at St. Philip’s College and served as a clinical instructor and lab assistant in the Respiratory Care division at the School.

Having worked as a respiratory therapist in a strong interprofessional environment, Llamas is encouraged by the emphasis and priority the School places on interprofessional education and collaboration.

“I am very excited because I know what a difference it can make,” she said.
