Physical Therapy faculty well represented at national conference

Թ physical therapy faculty presented at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting, held last month in San Antonio.
“Our school has a very good showing in terms of faculty participation, and that certainly helps elevate our program’s reputation in the state and across the country,” said Greg Ernst, Associate Professor and Department of Physical Therapy chair, of the program’s representation at the Feb. 15-18 conference.
Faculty presented on a range of topics during the educational and research sessions of the conference and also participated as speakers and inboard and administrative meetings.
Among those presenting were Associate Professor Mike Geelhoed, Director of Clinical Education in the Department of Physical Therapy, and physical therapy students Jessica Cruz and Suzanne Callaway, who co-authored an abstract on the attitudes of physical therapy students toward the homeless. The subject of a forthcoming paper, that study developed out of a program in which physical therapy students volunteer their services at Haven for Hope, a shelter and services center for San Antonio’s homeless population.
