Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident
Class of 2030
Dr. Cheyenne Alexander was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She received a bachelor’s degree in Honors Science and Humanities from Texas Tech University graduating with highest honors in 2020.
She then attended dental school at Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï where she earned her D.D.S., graduating with higher honors and ranked amongst the top of her class in 2024. While in dental school she published the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Case of the Month in November 2023 in the Texas Dental Journal. She was inducted into the Mu Nu chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and earned awards to include the AAOMS Dental Student Award, American Academy of Oral Medicine Merit Award, Student Government Association Student Leader Award, and the San Antonio District Dental Society Next Generation Award.
Dr. Alexander began her residency in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) at Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï in 2024. She is expected to earn her M.D. from the Long School of Medicine in 2027 and to complete her residency in 2030.
Dr. Alexander discovered her interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after receiving lectures from the OMFS faculty while in dental school and confirmed this interest through an externship with the department shortly thereafter. She is looking forward to continuing her medical and surgical training at Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï with a special interest in orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, and TMJ surgery.
Her interests beyond OMFS include spending time with her friends, hiking, painting, listening to live music, and discovering local coffee shops.
